New Long View Community Profile

“This is a one of a kind” and “this is a must see” are phrases often used in referencing New Longview in Lee’s Summit. And it’s a phrase quite appropriate for this vibrant community of just over 260 acres still remaining from the historic R.A. Long country estate originally established in the early 1900’s. Known nationally for its exquisite architecture, New Longview has already in its short life gathered a room full of awards for its aggressive efforts in preserving the historic architecture both in restoration of original buildings and replication on all new buildings.

What is not quite as apparent is the overwhelming bond and camaraderie the current resident’s exhibit on a day to day basis. On any given week our homeowners can be observed gathering for spontaneous BBQ’s on the back alley, participating in Bunko night, poker night, or a game of catch out in the street, parents playing with children on Playscape equipment and in green spaces, or neighbors simply sharing a cold beverage together on the front porch. You can’t buy that sense of belonging – except in New Longview.

In addition, residents have organized a ‘first day of kindergarten parade, a Fourth of July parade followed by fireworks, and Easter egg hunts on the front lawn of the historic and majestic Longview Mansion grounds. It’s also not an uncommon sight to spot residents or students from the nearby Longview Community College strolling across the Boulevard for a cup of coffee at JP’s Coffee, or to catch a bite to eat at the neighborhood Subway sandwich shop. Of course many of those same residents can be seen later trimming up at Fitness Together right next door. Kids also get into the action with participation in classes at Kids to Leaders.

New Long View Community Profile

Extraordinary efforts have been taken to preserve the legendary architecture of R.A. Long, and those designs were also maintained in the recently occupied and completely overhauled Longview Farm Elementary School which currently showcases the original Show Horse Arena stall doors as a separation wall between the gymnasium and cafeteria, exposed wooden support columns, and Loula Comb Long’s saddle for the children to gaze at while brushing up on their reading skills in the library.

There are homes meeting the needs for all walks of life ranging from the $220’s to the $800’s. We have a great mix of homeowners including young couples just purchasing their first home, young families, single parents, and empty nesters. All of New Longview’s homes have been designed featuring front porches and detailed in either Craftsman, Victorian, Colonial, Tudor, or Shirtwaist architecture on the outside, for an aesthetic community appeal unlike all others, but also including modern conveniences and spaces on the inside for greater ease in daily living and entertaining. In a saturated real estate market, that’s huge. New Longview’s residents recognize the value of owning a home that is unique compared to everything else for sale.
